Even under the strictest health and safety, occupational health and environmental risk assessments, the HLD4 requires minimal consideration.

Materials Compatibility

Independent laboratory testing demonstrates no corrosion or deterioration of the following materials, even after long-term repeated immersions:
Rubber compounds, Plastics, Fibreglass, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Brass and other materials found in clinical practice, in particular, synthetic floors, instruments and devices.


  • For bio-hazard contamination (blood, urine, vomit etc) dilute to 1:20 (5%). To make a ready-to-use solution, dilute 50ml of concentrate product in 1 Litre of water of a suitable quality
  • Wash down all surfaces with disinfectant at 1:50 (2%) and dry with paper towel or allow to dry naturally
  • For general disinfection of floors and walls dilute at 1:100 (1%). To make ready-to-use solution, dilute 10ml of concentrate product in 1 Litre of water of suitable quality

  • CHEMGENE HLD4H wipes can also be used to wipe surfaces and be allowed to dry

Bactericidal Activity

Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Enterococcus hirae, Escherichia coli, Legionella pneumophila, listeria monocytogenes, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella tryphimurium and Staphylococcus aureus.

Virucidal Activity

Adenovirus, Hepatitis B, Herpes Simplex, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Norovirus.

Mycobactericidal Activity

Bacillus cereus, bacillus subtilis, Mycobacterium avium, Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium terrae.

Fungicidal Activity

Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans and Trichophyton rubrum

Dr Martin Moncrieffe of the Department of Biochemistry, Cambridge University has certified that ” Formulation HLD4 at dilutions of 1:200 or lower is very effective at precipitating/denaturing DNA and RNA”

On the basis of this evidence we hereby assert that CHEMGENE HLD4L/H is effective at denaturing DNA/RNA at it’s published working dilutions.

CHEMGENE HLD4L is manufactured in accordance with Quality Management System ISO 9001 and is biodegradable under OECD conditions.
The HLD4 formula is being supported through BPD and REACH and contains no substances classified as dangerous to health.
CHEMGENE HLD4L can be used at a dilution of:

  • 1:100 General Intermediate Risk use
  • 1:50 High Risk
  • 1:20 In the presence of blood and body spills and for use with tissue cultures and discard jars

Unopened CHEMGENE HLD4L concentrate has a shelf life of 3 years, factory diluted product has a shelf life of 2 years and customer diluted of 6 months
